chin is short for chinko, which is penis. so its definitely a dick joke of sorts (pretty sure there was a guy in Gintama who was also nicknamed Takachin. Chinpira also means (literally) an apprentice yakuza, or just hooligan / punk

Ahh, thank you so much! Yes, I remember Takachin on Gintama, lol. In Beelzebub, Furuichi has another nickname which is also a dick joke, poor guy (Furuchin).

I don’t know what it is about manga that can move me so deeply in a few panels where so many films, TV shows, books leave me lukewarm. It’s as though the mangaka is right there as I read, whispering their words and intent directly into my ear and onto my soul. I’ll be fired up for battle or laughing my ass off, or aching with the need to be loved and understood, totally lost and adrift from the shores of conscious thought. And when I’m done with a particularly perfect chapter, it’s a chore to come back to this world, come back into this body and pick up the humdrum strains of life. Films and TV should be more entertaining, so much thought and money has gone into them. Books should have the shortcut to my imagination, authors’ words flashing across my synapses triggering pleasure or contemplation.

I know intellectually that it’s an industry, a business. There are manipulations of leftover high school passions, endless repetitions of certain profitable themes, and the omnipresent specter of exploitation choking the individual voice and change. But all I experience is the passion, the flow of ideas from a mangaka’s mind down to the ink, bifurcating into words and drawing, only to join up again in my mind to communicate that idea. And that double punch knocks me out, every single time.

It’s a dick joke. I couldn’t find an actual translation to back this up, but it is most probably a dick joke. (Japanese speakers, please help me out!)

Takachin is spelled as “たかちん” in the manga. ”たか” comes from the first part of Furuichi’s first name “Taka”, and “ちん” is a slang term for penis. (This is why dick jokes come up during the Okinawa arc; Aiba’s school is known as Chinpira High.)

The “Taka” in Takayuki means something like, precious or noble. So combine “Taka” and “chin” you get a nickname along the lines of “great dick”.

“The story of Jay DeFeo and The Rose is both a cautionary tale of obsession and an inspiring tale of determination and belief. She began working on The Rose in 1958. She was 29 years old and for the next eight years, she did little else but sit on a stool in her studio, smoking cigarettes, drinking Christian bothers brandy while she painted and scraped away at her vision.

First titled The Deathrose, then The White Rose and finally just The Rose, DeFeo only stopped working on the painting when an increase in rent forced her from her studio. By then it was 1966, her marriage was ending, she was in fragile physical and mental health, and The Rose had become too large to fit out the door.

At nearly 12 feet high and in places eight inches thick, The Rose was constructed from layer upon layer of built up and scraped away black and white paint. DeFeo added mica chips to the paint and so The Rose has its own interior light.”

It’s Hecadoth. The names Tamura uses for the 34th Pillar Squad are almost all part of the Alphabet of Demons, which is part of the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Basically, the Lesser Key of Solomon, the Ars Goetia, and the Demonic Alphabet are all different texts related to demonology and occultism. People tried to describe and elaborate on what demons were and how they operated, and these books are very well known because of that.
