waiting for the beelzebub chapter because
on one hand
I would love to see Furuichi being cool and maybe getting himself out of this situation himself- especially since he’s so recently jumped back up from butt monkey to main cast member
on the other hand
I really want to see Furuichi bruised and bleeding and maybe with a few broken bones- and Oga beating the shit out of whoever did it to him would be the fucking cherry on top
Why not both? I’m sure Tamura can make both scenarios work. Something like, Oga and Furuichi being separated, and Oga assuming Furuichi got hurt really bad when in reality he managed to manuever out of the situation? Yeah that would work.

I am convinced Furuichi dreams of Oga too, I’m just not sure yet how. I think Oga as the slacker policeman works quite well. But Judge!Furuichi is hilarious and I love Oga’s helplessness in those dreams.
There is a Beelzebub event happening at Haru Comic City 18! As with all other Beelzebub collaborations, this title will be available to purchase from C-Queen after the convention is over, so March 17th onwards. It would be great for someone to buy it…ah what am I saying.
I say “Beelzebub” but its obviously an Oga/Furuichi event. Nonetheless, its pretty spectacular that 22 Beelzebub fans got together to create it, as well as put together a proper anthology featuring colored fanart, comics, and fanfiction. The artists and authors will also have their own stalls as well, selling previously released doujinshi as well as some new stuff.
Beelzebub events have happened in the past before, and they’ve been happening consistently since the manga first became popular in late 2009. They’ve evolved from being “gag” with light BL overtones to being OgaFuru only affairs, but the amount of dedication and planning needed to pull it off is is still commendable. OgafuruJu, the title of this collaboration, started way back in March of 2012—it took a year to organize, and it clearly shows.
The cover is probably the best I’ve seen out of the past couple of collaborations. Its not flowery or sparkle-y (you should see how bling some of my doujinshi covers are), its just a really good image of Oga and Furuichi with the title in the foreground and an emblem in the back. Even though this event has been planned since last year, the cover art feels like it was drawn post-Tissues Arc.
Interestingly enough, Beelzebub volume 20 just came out in Japan, and it was actually pushed back from February to March. March marks Beelzebub’s 4th year anniversary so you can see the author wanted to celebrate the two together. And then Haru Comic City is also in March. Makes a good coincidence, doesn’t it? (I doubt its anything else)

Day 16: Something that didn’t happen that you wish did
Oga and Furuichi visiting each after a particularly tough battle, to see how they’re doing and if they’re recovering well. I think the closest we’ve seen to that happening was when they went to the park (three times, was it?) to discuss things: once after Himekawa kidnapped Hilda and Furuichi; another time after Oga destroyed Ishiyama; and… oh, maybe it was just two times.
I don’t know, I mean, I’m not expecting a hug or anything; given their personalities I find it very unlikely that will ever happen, but at least something subtle, like one of them visiting and staying to play video games with them. That’d be nice.
I’d love for something like this to happen. But Tamura is Tamura so it probably won’t. Though I’m hoping Oga and Furuichi will talk about the whole subcontracting deal after the fight is over.
